About the Role
The IAIO Canadian National Team Leader plays a key role in supporting youth AI education in Canada and leading the Canadian National Team at IAIO 2026 in Slovenia. This is a volunteer position dedicated to mentorship, academic guidance, and international representation.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
1. Canadian Residency or Employment
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or an individual currently working in Canada.
2. Professional Qualifications
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following:
- University faculty member specializing in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related disciplines.
- Holding a PhD or being in the final stages of PhD completion in AI or a closely related field.
- Holding a Master's degree in AI or a closely related field, and at least 5 years of professional experience in AI or applied AI fields.
3. Availability
Must be available to travel to Slovenia from February 22-28, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support and supervise the Canadian National Team throughout the competition period.
- Attend official IAIO meetings, represent Canada, and communicate with IAIO committee members as needed.
- Provide technical mentorship to Canadian competitors, including support in analyzing competition problems when appropriate.
